Is it possible to use Azure Active Directory to manage my home computers and users? Mainly for user authentication between different devices.

I use it for my home, but not for “networking” as all our services and resources are in the cloud as I use AAD for device authentication.

Muhammad Piracha. Yeah, so if they are running Windows 10 you can join them to the AAD and have them authenticate against that. It’s what I have set up for my devices at home. Nice and simple password management. I am going to try it out this week. And post more details later for anyone else interested in this subject.

I have a small home network with an Active Directory domain controller. I’ve worked with AAD in the past — I liked it. But as I am now retired, I cannot afford to pay Azure business rates for this service. We have an Office Home 5-user subscription, and we use OneDrive, but to my knowledge, those things do not provide such a service. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. So, what’s my next step to resolve this issue? Should I be posting in another forum, perhaps? Is there any other way to get the sort of authentication management AD provides, for a small network? Homegroups don’t seem to be substiture, so far as I can see.

Hello Ken! All the bussiness Office subscripcions include Azure AD. Home versions not. You and other admins can use Azure AD to create and manage user and group accounts. Hope it helps!
